Slow Left-arm Orthodox
Dec 18, 2005
A rising star from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Vaishnavi Sharma is a talented slow left-arm orthodox spinner who has rapidly ascended the ranks of Indian women’s cricket. A key architect of India’s triumph at the 2025 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, she finished as the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets, notably becoming the first Indian to claim a hat-trick in the competition's history. Her domestic dominance has been just as striking. She finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2025, claiming 12 wickets and playing a key role in guiding Madhya Pradesh to runners-up finish. Vaishnavi’s consistency earned her a T20I debut against Sri Lanka in December 2025. She capped her maiden series as the second-highest wicket-taker, underlining her immediate impact at the international level. With her exceptional control, flight and guile, Vaishnavi Sharma looks poised for a bright future in India colours.
