Wicket Keeper
Left-hand Bat
-
Jul 20, 2008
Prodigious left-handed wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini has rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in Indian women's cricket. Having shown what she is capable of, at a very young age, Kamalini quickly rose through the ranks. She represented Tamil Nadu in U15 cricket, then was part of their U19 team that won a T20 title, before also going on to be part of the India U19 team that won the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup in early 2025, where she was the third highest run-getter. Kamalini also made history by bagging a TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) contract at the age of 16. The youngster continued her fine form in domestic cricket and had a strong run in the U23 T20 tournament in 2025, during which she scored 275 runs in six matches, averaging 55 with a strike rate of 138.88. That performance played a role in Kamalini earning a maiden national call-up for the home T20I series against Sri Lanka in late 2025 and she ended up making her international debut at the age of 17.
